Travel is an important part of both my professional and personal life. The map includes business trips for talks, presentations, conferences, and workshops, as well as private travels shaped by hiking, climbing, and a sense of adventure. And sometimes, the best destination is simply a quiet place by the sea.

A PhD is made from research questions, code, revisions, deadlines, and a suspicious amount of coffee. Finishing it deserved a little color, a few happy faces, and proof that the serious work did eventually turn into a party.

Every computer scientist needs a calm supervisor for stress emergencies. Mine had four paws, excellent timing, and the rare talent of making everybody like him immediately.
He helped a lot whenever the computer-science brain got too loud: short breaks, soft company, and one very persuasive reminder that the world is bigger than a difficult bug or a stubborn paragraph.
